​With Yuri Horiuchi is a Japanese Violinist and Violist whose genre-blending performances bridge classical tradition with jazz and pop influences. Known for her expressive interpretations and warm stage presence, she is currently pursuing the Performer Diploma in Solo Performance at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music under the mentorship of James Ehnes.

 

She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, and has received top prizes at competitions including the K Grand Prix and the Gérard Poulet Violin Competition. In 2021, she gained national attention through her televised debut on TV Asahi’s Daimei Pro-juku, and her 2024 recital debut at Hamarikyu Asahi Hall was praised for its originality and depth.

 

Yuri has performed as a soloist with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and has also completed the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy as a violist. She draws from multiple musical genres to craft performances that resonate emotionally and stylistically across boundaries.

 

Beyond the concert stage, Yuri is active in music outreach and education in both Japan and the U.S., using music as a way to foster connection and inspire curiosity across cultures.
